The City of Henderson describes the corner of Green Valley Parkway and Village Walk Drive as "a heavily trafficked intersection, where traffic often backs up in both directions." That's the city's own wording, on the page announcing that a pedestrian bridge will cross the parkway there. The bridge will connect the two halves of The District at Green Valley Ranch. It's part of the I-215 widening, and the city expects that work to finish in mid-2028.
That bridge is a good way to read everything else happening around here right now. The District, Green Valley Ranch Resort and the stretch of Paseo Verde Parkway between them are all being remade so you can get from one to the next without moving the car. In fall 2026, the events calendar is ahead of that plan and the roads are behind it. You can easily fill a week here this season. Getting from place to place still means driving past orange barrels.
The bridge is years away. The programming is already here.
The District's October and November calendar is busy enough to plan around. Most weeks have at least two things on it, and the Thursday market runs almost all season.
| Event | Dates | Time |
|---|---|---|
| Farmers Market on Main Street | Thursdays, Oct. 1 to Oct. 29 and Nov. 5 to Nov. 19 | 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. |
| Movies on The Green | Oct. 3 Hocus Pocus, Oct. 10 Halloweentown, Oct. 17 Scooby-Doo, Oct. 24 Practical Magic | 5 to 9:30 p.m. |
| Market in the Alley | Oct. 10 and Nov. 8 | 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 10 |
| Makers Hive Market | Oct. 17 and Nov. 14 | 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. |
| Monster Mash on Main St. | Oct. 31 | 4 to 7 p.m. |
| Annual Tree Lighting | Nov. 21 | 5 to 8 p.m. |
A few dates stack up nicely. On Saturday, Oct. 10, Market in the Alley runs through the afternoon and Halloweentown starts at 5 p.m., so one parking spot covers most of the day. On Oct. 17 it's the Makers Hive Market followed by Scooby-Doo. The Monster Mash includes trick-or-treating, entertainment, vendors and costume contests. The Tree Lighting on Nov. 21 promises snowfall, live holiday music, local artisans and Santa. The calendar on The District's events page is a live listing, so check it the week of anything you plan around.
The store lineup changed over the summer too. Evereve opened its first Las Vegas-area store at The District on Aug. 26. It takes up 3,228 square feet and carries more than 150 brands, with personal styling available. The address is 2240 Village Walk Drive. The District also announced GLO30, We Whiten and Club Champion in the same round this summer. I haven't seen confirmation that those three are open yet, so call ahead before making a trip for one of them.
The resort across Paseo Verde added more reasons to stop in briefly
Green Valley Ranch Resort, at 2300 Paseo Verde Parkway, is partway through a multiyear renovation. Several of the changes are useful for a short stop, not just an overnight stay. Most of the newest openings are small, casual and within walking distance of The District.
The food court changed first. Nielsen's Frozen Custard opened there on May 22. Irv's Burgers, a Los Angeles favorite, followed with a grand opening on Thursday, July 9, in the space Fatburger used to occupy. Put together, the resort now has custard and a burger counter steps from the movie theater. That makes an after-school or post-movie stop much easier than a sit-down dinner.
In May the resort also opened 69,000 square feet of redesigned convention and meeting space, including a 5,000-square-foot outdoor venue called The Lawn. The Lawn is set up for gatherings of 50 to 250 people. That's worth knowing if you're planning a holiday party or family event and want an outdoor option close to home.
Regal Green Valley Ranch is still showing movies. When Station Casinos announced the theater's remodel in November 2025, it said the theater would stay open during construction and projected completion in mid-2026. The planned work included a redesigned lobby and promenade, expanded concessions, a craft-drink bar, a lounge, recliners, improved sound and projection, and refreshed private movie booths. I haven't seen an announcement that every phase is finished, so some of those features may still be on the way the next time you buy a ticket.
Hank's, before the remodel
Hank's Fine Steaks & Martinis is scheduled for a major remodel this fall. Station Casinos said in April that the steakhouse would keep regular dinner and happy-hour service until work begins, and that a temporary Hank's would run somewhere on the property during construction, with the familiar dishes and martinis. As of late September, the Hank's page was still taking table reservations and listing normal dinner hours and daily happy hour. No start date or pop-up location has been announced. If there's an anniversary or birthday you'd like to celebrate in the current dining room, book it soon.
Two concerts are on the resort's fall schedule. Hinder plays the Backyard Amphitheater on Oct. 3 at 8 p.m., moved from April 17, and existing tickets are still valid. Brian Culbertson plays the Grand Events Center on Nov. 21 at 8 p.m. That's the same night as The District's Tree Lighting, which runs 5 to 8 p.m. So that Saturday evening will have two big crowds less than a mile apart, both needing parking around Green Valley Parkway and Paseo Verde.
What's torn up between here and there
This is the gap between the plan and how things work today. All three major road projects near the two hubs are aimed at pedestrians and cyclists, and all three are mid-construction this fall.
- I-215 widening, Pecos Road to Stephanie Street. Adds two lanes in each direction, rebuilds on-ramps and off-ramps, and adds turn lanes at Pecos, Green Valley Parkway, Valle Verde and Stephanie. The Green Valley Parkway bridge over the freeway becomes a diverging diamond interchange, so drivers can turn left onto the on-ramps without stopping. The Village Walk pedestrian bridge is part of this project. Expected completion is mid-2028.
- Carnegie Street, Green Valley Parkway to Paseo Verde Parkway. Work began May 26 and includes repaving, buffered bike lanes, pedestrian upgrades and a new traffic signal at Cozy Hill. The city also lists a pedestrian-activated flasher at the trail crossing. Completion is expected by Q2 2027.
- Stephanie Street waterline, sewer and roadway. A project of about $23 million that started in July along a two-mile stretch including Galleria Drive and the Sunset Road and Warm Springs Road intersections. Part of Stephanie went down to one lane when work began. Completion is scheduled for the third quarter of 2027.
Line up those finish dates and you get the timeline for this part of Henderson. Carnegie's bike lanes and Cozy Hill signal arrive first, in spring 2027. Stephanie follows in summer or early fall 2027. The bridge connecting both sides of The District comes last, in 2028. Until then, a Thursday market run or a Saturday movie night means driving in with extra time, especially near the Green Valley Parkway interchange while the diverging diamond is being built.
The next stop is already under construction
The newest piece is The Cliff. On Tuesday, Sept. 29, VAC Development announced it had started construction on a roughly $70 million project to turn a two-building office complex into a dining and retail center. The project lists its address as 2500 and 2550 Paseo Verde Parkway, a little way down the same road from the resort's 2300 address.
The tenants named so far are Arhaus, The Taco Stand, Lyte House, The Barista Botanist and Killer Whale Creamery. The plans also include fitness studios, live music, comedy shows and outdoor programming. Real estate investor Benjy Garfinkle, part of the ownership group, told the Review-Journal the complex is 40 percent leased. The group bought the 10-acre site for $27.5 million, and that sale closed Aug. 31. The developers want to start handing over space to tenants in the second quarter of 2027. That's the handoff to tenants, not an opening date, so expect the first doors to open later than that.
The resort's own work isn't done either. In August, Red Rock Resorts described a next phase at Green Valley Ranch, separate from its $56 million hotel renovation, that covers a casino-floor refresh, food-and-beverage improvements and entertainment upgrades, with construction expected to run into 2027. No cost, specific restaurants or opening dates have been named for that phase.
That leaves a short Paseo Verde corridor with three things going on at once. There's a shopping district holding events most weeks, a resort that has added casual food and an outdoor venue, and a new dining center whose space handoff is set to begin around the time the Carnegie bike lanes are finished. The pedestrian bridge that links it all comes last. For fall 2026, the practical plan is to pick a parking spot, stack the events that share a day, and go to Hank's before its remodel starts.
If you own a home near Village Walk, Carnegie or Paseo Verde and want to know how the I-215 work and The Cliff's 2027 timeline could affect when you sell or how you present your home, I'm happy to go through it with you.
